You, Naturally

With the exception of some evening wear, most of our range is made using soft, natural fabrics.  All our garments come with comprehensive care instructions to help you get the most out of your clothing.  Here is some information on the fabrics we most like to use.

Bamboo:  This enduring material is made from the pulp of bamboo grass.  It is naturally anti-bacterial, breathable and silky in texture - a great earth-friendly alternative to cotton-based nursing wear.  Care is identical to that for cotton.  This fabric rarely needs pressing.

Cotton:  This strong, natural fibre of vegetable origin is especially recommended for nursing wear due to its softness, breathability and excellent absorbing capabilities.  Colourfast fabric is easily cleaned in a cold machine wash with like colours.  Straighten and hang to dry overnight to reduce creasing.

Modal:  This fabric is made from the cellulose of beech trees.  It is very soft, drapes beautifully and absorbs water well.  This sturdy bio-based fibre does not fade or pill easily.  Care is similar to that for cotton.  If your fabric is very soft and silky in texture, use a laundry bag when washing.  This fabric rarely needs pressing.

Organic Cotton:  Grown without the use of harmful pesticides and chemicals, this earth-friendly fabric not only feels good, it feels right.  Care is identical to that for cotton.

Silk:  Silk is a smooth, soft protein fibre produced by mulberry silkworms.  The shimmering appearance of silk is due to the triangular prism-like structure of the silk fibre, which allows silk fabric to refract incoming light at different angles, thus creating the perception of different colors.  Machine washable silk is easily cleaned in a laundry bag, in a gentle machine wash, with like colours.
